What carries over
We kept the parts your fingers already know.
- The quick add syntax: p1 to p4, #Project, @label, natural-language dates.
- The filter grammar: today, overdue, p1, #Project, @label, &, |, ! and parentheses.
- Keyboard shortcuts in the same spirit: q for quick add, j and k to move, e for done.
- A Todoist import that brings projects, sections, tasks, labels and comments.

Where Todoist is ahead
- It has a free plan. If you need one, Todoist is the better choice, and we say so.
- Native apps today, for Linux, Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android, Apple Watch and WearOS. We have a web app that installs and works offline; native Mac and Android apps come after it.[6]
- Todoist has been at this for years, and it shows. We are new, and we will say so when we find a gap.
Where dododonedone differs
- Offline-first by design, with one documented sync protocol that every client implements.
- The MCP server runs on the same operations as the app, REST and sync. There is no second write path to drift.
- Danish from day one, including Danish dates and filter words.
- No free plan, so no feature gates anywhere in the product.
Switching takes one token
Paste your Todoist API token in Settings, Import. The import brings over your projects, sections, tasks, labels and comments while you carry on. Run it again later and it updates instead of making copies.
