Kanban board
Your to-do list, as a kanban board.
Any project in dododonedone can be a list, a board or a calendar. On the board, each section is a column and every task is a card you drag to the next step.
How the board works
Columns are sections, so the board and the list always agree.
- One column per section, plus one for tasks without a section
- Drag a card to another column, or up and down to change the order
- From the keyboard too: Space picks a card up, the arrow keys move it, Space puts it down
- Add a task right in a column, at the top or the bottom as you prefer
- Each column shows how many tasks are in it
The same tasks, three ways
A board is a view, not a separate tool.
- Switch a project between list, board and calendar at any time
- Cards keep their dates, priorities, labels and subtasks
- Quick add, filters and search work as everywhere else in the app
- Moves sync to your other devices within a second
Boards people make
Sections are yours to name. A few that work well:
- A sprint: Next, Doing, Waiting, Ready for review
- Content: Ideas, Writing, Editing, Scheduled
- Hiring: Applied, Talked, Interview, Offer
- Moving house: Sort, Pack, Move, Unpack
Where you'll find it
The board view is in the web app, in any browser or installed on your computer. The phone app shows the same project as a list, with the same sections.
Questions
Is the board view in every plan?
Yes. Every plan and the 14-day trial have list, board and calendar views.
Can a team share a board?
Yes. In a team workspace everyone with access to the project sees the same board, with assignees and comments on the cards.
What happens when I finish a card?
Tick it off and it leaves the board, like it leaves the list. A repeating task moves to its next date and stays.
Can I bring my Todoist boards?
Yes. The Todoist import brings projects with their sections, so a board in Todoist arrives as the same columns here.
