Where Google Tasks is ahead

  • It is free. If you need a free list, Google Tasks is a good one, and we say so.[1]
  • It lives where Google users already are: turn an email into a task in Gmail, and see your tasks in Calendar.[3][2]
  • An iPhone and iPad app. We have a web app that works on any phone, and an Android app.[1]
  • Gemini can add tasks from what you say, or from a photo of a list.[8]

Where dododonedone differs

  • Labels, four priorities and Todoist's filter language, for lists that grow.
  • Your choice of AI assistant works in the list through our MCP server: Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
  • Offline-first by design: the app never waits for the network.
  • Shared projects and team workspaces with roles, guests and an activity log.

Moving from Google Tasks

Google Takeout exports your tasks, but there is no Google Tasks import here, so you bring your lists over yourself: type them into quick add, or copy a list into Claude or ChatGPT with dododonedone connected and ask it to make a project of it. Check the result before you delete anything in Google Tasks.
