To-do list templates
Start from a list that already works.
Four to-do list templates for things most people do more than once. Copy the tasks, change them to fit, and give each one a date.
Weekly review
Twenty minutes on Friday afternoon, so Monday starts clear.
- Sort everything in Loose ends into a project, or delete it
- Give every overdue task a real date, or let it go
- Look at next week's calendar and add what it asks of you
- Pick the three things that matter most next week
- Look at what you finished, and tick off what you forgot to
Moving house
The jobs people forget until the week of the move.
- Give notice on the old place
- Book a van or movers for the day
- Give your bank, your employer and the post office the new address
- Read the meters at both places on moving day
- Move internet and electricity to the new address
- Clean the old place and hand over the keys
Packing for a trip
Pack the day before, not the morning of.
- Passport, tickets and travel insurance details
- Chargers and a plug adapter
- Medicine for the whole trip
- Book the ride to the airport
- Ask someone to water the plants
- Download maps and boarding passes before you go
Launching a product update
For people who make things: the steps between done and shipped.
- Write the release notes
- Update the website and the screenshots
- Tell the people who asked for it
- Mark the matching feedback posts as done
- Watch for errors on the first day
- Thank the people who helped
Turn a template into your list
There is no import button for these. Here are the quick ways in.
What quick add understands- Type each line into quick add; dates like “friday” or “every friday” are read as you type
- Make the project first, then put #Moving in a line and the task lands there
- Give the weekly review “every friday”, and it comes back after you tick it off
- Share the project with a link when others are in on it
Or let your AI do the typing
With dododonedone connected over MCP, paste a template into Claude or ChatGPT and ask for a project.
The AI task manager- Make a project called Moving from this list. The van is booked for the 1st.
- Add this packing list to my Trip project, all due the day before we leave.
- Add the weekly review as a task that repeats every Friday at 3 pm.
Questions
Are the templates free?
Yes. Copy them, print them, change them. You don't need an account to use them.
Can I import a template as a file?
Not as a file. Type the lines into quick add, or let your AI assistant make the project over MCP. From Todoist, the import brings whole projects over.
Can a list come back every week?
Each task can repeat. Type “every friday” in the line, and when you tick the task off it moves to the next Friday.
Can I share a list with my household?
Yes. Share the project with a link or by email. The people you add can add tasks and tick them off, and it costs them nothing.
